Shadow on rock at Newgrange, Ireland 2010

Shadow Dance

I set fire to my shadow and watched it burn
The fire set free a rose
It blossomed and died and budded again
Through the blue-gold flame
Petals turning black

I set fire to my shadow and watched it dance
Life’s bright spark
Illuminating all around it
It’s blaze alighting others
Coming together in one blissful union

I set fire to my shadow and watched it rise
Grow wings and fly high up
Climb stars and pass strange worlds
Glimmering and winking
From the inky black ash

I set fire to my shadow and watched it smolder
With hidden passions and smothered anger
Barely contained and swelling within
Glaring darkly from behind
Thickly hooded eyes

I set fire to my shadow and watched it
Embraced it
And set it free
And I wondered
What change is in stall for me

Stoneacorn (Xander)

These songs, poems, and reflections offer an insight to who I am and are my autobiography. I am a poet, a song writer, a witch. I dance my Wyrd in my practice; in how I choose to live; in who I share my moments with. My heart is black, white, grey and purple like the stone beneath my feet, the bones of Grandfather Green. My eyes contain her Stars and her deep dark well as I straddle the hedge and listen to the winds. My form is the tree that connects all realms, clothed in holly and oak. I am Stoneacorn
