From the Dark of the Woods

From the dark of the wood
Stepped he
With hair of flax and
Clothes of green
And with wicked eye
And joyful grin
Said ‘how nice of you
To wander in’

Out reached his hand
With fingers lean
And a glow from within
Somehow unseen
A gold harp he plucked
It’s tune let sound
To flow up and in
And all around

Enveloped in
Warm and snug
Wrapped around
Like a favoured rug
Whose presence eases
Strife and pain
And teases in love
Once again

At this beautiful
Creature I gaze
Mind at rest
Yet in a haze
Of breathless wonder
And quiet atone
My mark ablaze
Their eyes my own

I look at him
And I am home

Our Lady

White Lady of the wells
Whisper to me
Healing spirit
Cleansing waters
Seeping through my skin

Red Lady, our Rose Queen
Singing softly
Songs of longing
Passions spreading
Fill my heart with love

Black Lady of the Night
Shadows linger
Hiding secrets
Black suede fingers
Combing through my soul

Our Lady Crescent Crowned
Moonlight Goddess
Shines so brightly
Ever changing
Season’s cyclic guide

Be with us
Awaken us
Help us to see
And to be all we can be

Our Lady Crescent Crowned
Our Crescent Crowned Goddess

His Challenge

Are you willing
Or will you be taken
For I am here
And I’m coming for you

Hoof and horn or teeth
Which will be forsaken
For I am here
And I’m coming for you

Look into my eyes
Such places I’ll take you
For I am here
And I’m coming for you

Walking through the woods
Will it heal or break you
For I am here
And I’m coming
For you.

Beneath Your Feet

I am
Beneath your feet
I am
In your heartbeat
I am
The bugs and bone
I am
The soil and stone

I am
Beneath your feet
I am
In your heartbeat
I am
The tree that grows
I am
The thorny rose

I am
Beneath your feet
I am
In your heartbeat
I am
The crops you reap
I am
The food you eat

I am
Beneath your feet
I am
In your heart beat
I am
The clothes you wear
I am
The flesh you tear

I am
Beneath your feet
I am
In your heartbeat
You are
A part of me
So open your eyes
And you’ll see that

You are
Beneath my feet

Unnoticed

Green and brown
Sliding by
Reaching out from
The sides
The edges
Not quite kept at bay
As I race along
Silver stone rivers
Glistening
From misty rain

It floats down
From on high
Like dewy shower curtains
Slick and sleek

I barely notice
Their beauty
Hidden in front
Of my half closed eyes
Mind on other things
Ignorant and blind
To the unfurling wonder
Of life

Ode to Bob

Polished horn shining in sunlight
Glinting from beneath curls.
Evening draws near
And the sun sinks auburn on the horizon.
Smiling, a hand is raised,
Tracing swirls on skin,
Touch soft; anticipated; as yet unknown;
Tingling. The heart lifts,
Shining out brighter than the new dawn,
Brighter than noon.
Love trickles over all,
Covering everything;
Flooding every crack and crag.
You who have many names yet no name;
Ever resplendent;
You dazzle; enticing, enigmatic, mysterious.
You call, knowing I will always answer
Yet there is a fear that this once I will not.
I feel you cradle me in your arms;
Nurturing, protective; you embrace all.
I dance in your light;
A tree in your great forest
Content to sway my branches
In your gentle breath of life.

Riding the Serpent

I feel its breath calling me
From beneath
Underneath
Soil, grass and dirt
Like a magnet it draws me close

It rises to meet up with me
I reach out
And feel it
Move, turn and sway
Feel the power that swells it

That one touch sparks something
Within me
I respond
Mind and body
Instinct and experience combine

The colours dance before me
Orange green
Black red white
Pulsing vibrant
A dancing map before my eyes

I pull from the stars and send
To the deep
Flushing all
Toxic blocks
Billowing and swirling away

Coiled becomes straight and the blocks
Become pure
Red to green
Black to white
Absorbed into the intensity building

And then comes that final rhythmic pulse
As all moves
Falls away
Becomes still
And the serpent once so awake rests again

A dance on names

Strange
How your name
Has always tripped
My tongue;
Beginning alright
But faltering
Blurring
Fudging the end.
And then
Without warning
Accidentally
I see;
It all makes sense
And your name
Once fragmented
Is whole;
And in that wholeness
Is revealed
More mystery
Than before, when it
Lay
Splintered.
Your name
You were hesitant
To reveal
As my learning it
Was not to be taken
Lightly.
My name
I gave freely
Not understanding
That it was not the name
You sought.
I did not
Understand
As I do now
How important
Name
Can be;
The power in
The sound
The depths they
Enable
You to reach.
In learning yours
I discovered
Something new
Something wonderful
About my own.
As I learn yours
I want you to learn mine.
In the blending
Of our names
We share a
Merging
Of our souls
Of our hearts;
I no longer need
To reach
For you are here
Part of me
One
Infinite
Resplendent
Sound.
