Books
“Lifting the Veil: A Witches Guide to Trance-Prophecy, Drawing Down the Moon and Ecstatic Ritual”
By Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone
Published by Acorn Guild Press
An essential book for all Seers.
It has an Alexandrian Tradition flavour (as you would expect) but contains a wealth of knowledge about the history, lore, preparation, practices and dangers of Seership. This includes anecdotes from personal experience.
“A Deed Without a Name: Unearthing the Legacy of Traditional Witchcraft”
By Lee Morgan
Published by Moon Books
An essential book for all Seers.
This book is from a Traditional Witchcraft perspective and covers Seership from the perspective of the Witch as Hedge-crosser. It contains information on a wide range of different forms of the unseen, as well as practical exercises and advice on engaging with them.
“Spirited: Taking Paganism Beyond the Circle”
By Gede Parma
Published by Llewellyn Publications
Although this is a witchcraft book written for teens, it describes a journey into the craft that includes Seership. I found this to be a very rare thing in books for beginners. While there may well be others, this was the only book I found when starting out that even touched on what I was experiencing as a Seer newly awakened. A highly engaging and invaluable introduction to the craft.
“By Land, Sky and Sea: Three Realms of Shamanic Witchcraft”
By Gede Parma
Published by Llewellyn Publications
This is a book of techniques based around the three realms of Land (middle world), Sky (upper world) and Sea (under world). It provides an excellent introduction to how the three realms relate to Seership practices.
“Ecstatic Witchcraft: Magick, philosophy and trance in the Shamanic Craft”
By Gede Parma
Published by Llewellyn Publications
An essential book for understanding WildWood Tradition Seership practices.
